A client that spans two Provinces had a communication breakdown that resulted in their transport division being audited, stopping the transportation component of the company until specific audit requirements were met. This was a critical breakdown and Al’s expertise was needed immediately.
As Al was already involved in other inspection aspects of this company, trust was established, and Al was requested to represent the company and answer to the Provincial National Safety Code (NSC) audit to get the fleet up and running again with minimal interruption of service.
This included communicating with all interested parties to undertake a full review of the challenges of each Province’s varying NSC guidelines and restrictions, and to develop a full-fledged, user-friendly Fleet Vehicle Safety Program that was in full regulatory compliance.
Program development included Driver Hiring Qualifications, Driver Evaluations, Drivers Hours of Service training, Specific Training of the Personnel (Crane use, Weights and Dimensions, Cargo Securement), and a detailed maintenance program for the entire fleet. Al put in place a comprehensive Record keeping and Record Retention system that both Provinces now use via the “cloud”.
Al continues to maintain the transportation safety requirements for the client and was further tasked with management all aspects of their fleet insurance.
The outcome for the client is that they can rest easy knowing their fleet always is in compliance, insured appropriately and ready to roll!
